Both the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers are playing pretty well right now, and they'll meet up on Sunday night, as Portland continues its playoff quest.

The Phoenix Suns have performed better since they started to take a long look at their younger players. Now they have won four out of their last six games, covering five of them, and they come with some confidence into Sunday night's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, who are fighting for playoff spot. This one will begin at 9:05 PM ET at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, and BetAnySports customers, who get reduced juice, affording them better NBA odds, will have the opportunity to place wagers even after the game tips off, using the facilities of Live Betting Ultra.

Portland had a four-game winning streak broken last night in a tough one against the Washington Wizards, in which they blew a 21-point lead at halftime. The final was 125-124 in overtime, and it dropped their record to 28-36 straight-up (26-38 ATS), which puts them in ninth position in the West, two games behind the Denver Nuggets. Phoenix comes into this game on a high, having beaten Dallas last night 100-98, with Devon Booker hitting the winning shot in the closing moments. That raised the Suns' record to 22-44, and they have done considerably better against the oddsmaker, with a 34-30-2 spread mark.

In the NBA odds that have been established on this game by the folks at BetAnySports, Portland is a road favorite:

Portland Trail Blazers -2
Phoenix Suns +2

Over 228.5 points -110
Under 228.5 points -110

There have been two meetings between these teams, but they both took place in early November. On November 2, neither team was able to reach 43% from the field, and Phoenix came away with a 118-115 victory. Then on November 8, they were a lot sharper, combining to shoot 53%, but the Blazers committed 20 turnovers. Nonetheless, they were 124-121 victors.

The Suns have been going forward since the All-Star break without point guard Brandon Knight and center Tyson Chandler, both of whom have, in effect, been benched, not because of poor performance, but because management as directed head coach Earl Watson to take a look at the younger people on the roster. One of those has been Tyler Ulis, the backup point guard who is a rookie fresh out of John Calipari's program at Kentucky. He's added a little spark to the offense when he's been in there, and this team will need all hands on deck in the backcourt to deal with CJ McCollum and Damien Lillard, who combined for 67 points last night against Washington.

Portland allowed Washington to shoot 52%, but they also went 16 from 32 from beyond the arc, continuing their hot streak in that regard. Portland has hit over 45% from downtown since the All-Star break, and whether BetAnySports patrons know it or not, that is not only the best in the league, but one of the best figures ever. If they can continue such a thing, they are going to be a handful for Phoenix to deal with.

There have been other people finally making some major offensive contributions for the Blazers. Jusuf Nurkic, who came in a trade with Denver, registered 28 points, 20 rebounds and six blocks against Philadelphia last Thursday. Without having to face Chandler, he may have more luck than usual.

Phoenix has improved itself defensively, or so it seems, holding opponents to less than 40% in three of the last six games. Portland has shot 50% in five of their last eight, but they have allowed 50% or more in four of their last seven.
