The Miami Heat came back from a 3-2 deficit to beat Charlotte in the previous round, and now they face off against the Toronto Raptors, who just won their first seven-game playoff series ever.

Well, when it comes to experience in big-time playoff situations, there really is not much of a comparison between Miami Heat and the Toronto Raptors, but it was Toronto that wound up the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference, so they will get home-court advantage as a result. Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals will take place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, starting at 8:05 PM ET on Tuesday. BetAnySports customers can get reduced juice on their basketball action before the game, and after the opening tipoff they can enjoy the liveliest in-game wagering when they turn to Live Betting Ultra.

When you talk about the Heat you are talking about a dynamic backcourt of Dwayne Wade and Goran Dragic, and they should match up pretty well against DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry of the Raptors. Dragic had a lukewarm playoff series against Charlotte, hitting just 42.4% of his shots, but he came up very big in Game 7, with 25 points over just three quarters, as the Heat won by 33 points, the fifth-largest margin ever in a seventh game.

We mentioned DeRozan and Lowry, and they have to step up their shooting in a big way. They both shot just 32% from the field for Toronto in their seven-game win over the Indiana Pacers, and they were just 10-61 from downtown. This is a problem when you have a duo taking 40% of their team shots.

In the NBA odds posted on this game by the people at BetAnySports, Toronto is the Game 1 favorite:

Toronto Raptors -4
Miami Heat +4

Over 191 points -110
Under 191 points -110

Many observers believe that Lowry has been bothered by an elbow injury, and there has been some evidence of the numbers to demonstrate that. He averaged 21.2 points per game during the regular season, but he couldn't hit the side of the barn in the opening round of the playoffs. With Wade, Miami has the ability to harass Lowry into some bad shots, so the question is what kind of production can Toronto get from its frontline. Well, Patrick Patterson has been inserted into the power forward spot, and he hit almost 42% of his triples against the Pacers. Jonas Valanciunas has been very reliable in the middle; he shot 50% against Indiana and was 57% accurate in the four games between the Heat and the Raptors, three of which were won by Toronto.

One factor BetAnySports patrons should look for in this game that wasn't there in the four head-to-head meetings these teams had in the regular season is the presence of DeMarre Carroll, who sat out most of the season with a knee injury. Yes, he was below 40% from the field in the previous series, but his value is going to have to be on the defensive end, as he deals with the versatile Joe Johnson, who scored 28 points for the Heat in his only appearance for Miami against Toronto this season.

Miami is ninth in the NBA in Defensive Rating and 13th in Offensive Rating; Toronto is the fifth-rated offense in the league by that metric, and 11th in Defensive Rating. Both of these teams are going to play at a slow pace; the Heat is 25th in the NBA in Pace Factor, while Toronto is 29th. That should inform those people who are looking at the total.
