The Cleveland Cavaliers hope that getting back to the Quicken Loans Arena might do them some good as they face off against the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

The Cleveland Cavaliers seemed to have some answers for a Golden State Warriors team that was without Andre Iguodala in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and of course one of those was 51 points from LeBron James. But they lost some intensity in Game 2, after the disappointment from a set of circumstances that is still kind of stunning. Now they have to regroup as they return home, down 2-0 in the series, for Game 3, which begins at 9:05 PM ET at the Quicken Loans Arena. Remember that if you are a BetAnySports customer, you can get reduced juice before the game starts and then place wagers in real time with Live Betting Ultra.

In Game 1, Cleveland asserted some size advantage to keep Golden State off the boards, at both ends of the floor, and got that monster game out of LeBron. It could be argued that they deserved to win, but a charging foul on Kevin Durant was reserved, then JR Smith was guilty of not thinking straight, leading to overtime and a disgusted King James. That carried over into the extra session, as the Cavs lost their heads, and into Game 2, where Cleveland just didn't have enough at either end.

In a bit of comic relief, Smith got a standing ovation from the crowd at the Oracle Arena on Sunday, as they thanked him for the Game 1 "gift."

The Warriors kind of mechanically and methodically put away Cleveland on Sunday, ironically doing so without even the usual big third quarter. They have simply shot the lights out - 51% in Game 1 and 57% in Game 2. You may recall that during the regular season, the Cavs were just 29th in the NBA in Defensive Rating.

NBA Finals predictionAnd they may get back Andre Iguodala, who gives them the flexibility to go into their "Death" lineup but has missed the last six games with a lateral bone contusion in his leg. He is listed as "questionable" for this game. Meanwhile, he's been rather vocal with teammates on the sidelines, as Steve Kerr has referred to him as "literally another coach."

In the NBA Finals odds that have been posted on this game by the folks at BetAnySports, the Warriors are favored on the road:

Golden State Warriors -4.5
Cleveland Cavaliers +4.5

Over 216.5 points -110
Under 216.5 points -110

As far as the "triples game" is concerned, the Dubs are winning that one flat. They sank fifteen of them on Sunday, with Steph Curry setting an NBA Finals record with nine of them. So much for any doubts as to whether he had gotten his sharpness back. And Cleveland has really missed the mark, shooting just 27% and 33% from downtown in these two games. Sure, we know LeBron will get his numbers, but other guys have to chip in too. But look at Kyle Korver - he has the ability to be such a weapon from long range, but he has made just one field goal thus far.

Cleveland Cavaliers free pickIn an effort to shake things up and maybe put some more athleticism on the floor, Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue has told the press that he will be putting Rodney Hood into the rotation. Hood is a curious case; in Utah he was looked upon as a very valuable piece, averaging just a shade under 17 points. But nothing has clicked for him with the Cavs. Maybe that's because when LeBron is on the court, there is not a whole lot of room for anyone else. Of course, that is the Cavaliers' dilemma in general; they can't win without him but sometimes they can't win because of him. But we'll see if Hood, who can shoot from the outside and guard three positions, can make any kind of a difference.

Or perhaps it might simply be a matter of getting back home, where Cleveland has not lost since Game 1 of the series against Indiana. Two seasons ago, they were destroyed by 48 combined points in the first two games of the series, then returned the favor at the "Q," winning by 30. Last year, they had a Game 3 victory in the palms of their hands until the latter stages, but they failed to score in the last three minutes and nine seconds. If there was any place they could make a stand, this would be it, unless it is in a fourth game down 3-0 when Golden State might subconsciously hang back, ultimately achieving what a colleague of mine terms a "gentleman's sweep." Okay, we'll take the points.
