The Golden State Warriors lead the Western Conference, and with Kevin Durant in the fold, they will take on Durant's former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, on Wednesday night in Oakland.

The Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder had disparate results the last time they took the floor. They also had a one-sided game the last time they played against each other. It's always going to be a colorful storyline when Kevin Durant is on one side and Russell Westbrook is on the other, and we'll have the second game of that type on Wednesday night, as these teams tangle at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. Game time is 10:35 PM ET, and BetAnySports customers will have a chance to watch this game and place wagers in real time through the phenomenon known as Live Betting Ultra.

Golden State Warriors betting previewThe Warriors lead the West with a sizzling 35-6 straight-up mark. However, they have actually been a disappointment for some unreasonable people who, for some reason, forecast that they might go through the season with less than the nine losses they suffered last year. There is obviously some speculation that their quest to set the new NBA standard for best record in the regular-season may have hurt them in their playoff quest, but one thing is for certain – they made a heroic run to overcome a 3-1 deficit at the hands of Oklahoma City in the West semi-finals. And that one will stay in the minds of both Westbrook and Durant for a long time.

However, Durant has gone and joined two-time MVP Steph Curry the "enemy." And he is the leading scorer for the Warriors, averaging 26 points per game. Curry is close behind, and Klay Thompson gives them a third player who is averaging at least 20 points per contest. All of these guys are just a shade under 40% from three-point range, so you can pretty much "pick your poison" with them.

With Oklahoma City, it's a bit of a different story, as if you can stop or slow down Westbrook, you've got one of the keys to victory pretty much taken care of. Obviously, that is easier said than done, but if you can take them all this game just a little, you can really upset with this team does offensively.

In the NBA betting odds posted on this game by the folks at BetAnySports, Golden State is a sizable favorite at home:

Golden State Warriors -13
Oklahoma City Thunder +13

Over 228 points -110
Under 220 points -110

Golden State is not only the top team in the league in Offensive Rating, but also is #2 in Defensive Rating, and these are measurements of points scored or allowed per 100 possessions. The last time these teams played, the Golden State defensive strategy was to keep Westbrook off-balance, and that is exactly what they did, making him miss 11 of his 15 shots from the field. Oklahoma City Thunder oddsAnd the final was 122-96. If you want to talk about complete dominance, you have to discuss the Warriors' last outing, when they faced a Cleveland team that had beaten and covered against them four straight times, but had absolutely no answers for charged-up Golden State squad, which rolled to a 126-91 victory. Was that such a high that they'll have difficulty coming down from it? Maybe that's something to speculate on.

We can tell BetAnySports patrons that Golden State is still only 2-6 ATS in their last eight games. And we should mention that even though Durant is not part of the Thunder anymore, Westbrook has driven this team to a 25-18 record, which puts them in the playoff picture at #6 in the West.

Westbrook has 20 triple-doubles this season, and he is, in fact, averaging a triple-double, as well as leading the league in scoring. If he can maintain at least 10 rebounds and 10 assists per contest for the rest of the season, will be the first player to average triple-double numbers since Oscar Robertson in 1961-62 season. And that would be quite an individual accomplishment, perhaps enough to win him the MVP award.

It's not as if Oklahoma City doesn't have anyone else who can score; Victor Oladipo is a perfectly capable off-guard with a lot of athletic ability. But they need those guys to do the "dirty work" up front, and they will be missing one of them, as Steven Adams, the Australian import who is very rough-and-ready, is in the NBA's concussion protocol after a rough fall he took on Sunday against Sacramento.
