The Denver Nuggets have been shooting lights-out, and they will look to continue that as they visit the Los Angeles Lakers in Tuesday night NBA action.

The Denver Nuggets can now lay claim to being red-hot on both sides of the pond. They really had their hitting shoes on when they played the Indiana Pacers in London, and then they came back and bludgeoned the Orlando Magic. Now they go up against one of the weaker defensive teams in the NBA, as the Los Angeles Lakers await them for Tuesday night game at the Staples Center. The opening tip is at 10:35 PM ET, and BetAnySports customers can watch that and place wagers while it is in progress, using the facilities available through Live Betting Ultra.

Denver Nuggets previewDenver went to the O2 Arena in London last Thursday and absolutely sizzled from beyond the three-point arc. Indiana was helpless in preventing their long-range weaponry, giving up 15 triples as the Nuggets rolled up 140 points. So after shooting 57% in that game, the Nuggets return to the United States on Monday and rolled to a 125-112 victory over Orlando. In that one they shot 58.4%, and what they are doing that is so impressive is that not only are they getting from the arc, they are also getting points in the paint – more than 70 in each of the last two, in fact.

Coming into this game, Denver is now 60-23 straight-up and 19-19-1 against the basketball pointspread, and they are only percentage points behind the Portland Trail Blazers, who currently holds the #8 spot in the Western Conference. The Lakers still have a ways to go; they are 15-30 after four straight defeats (18-19-1 ATS), and only two teams in the West have worse records.

In the NBA basketball betting odds posted on this game by the folks at BetAnySports, Denver is the slight favorite on the road:

Denver Nuggets -1
Los Angeles Lakers +1

Over 229.5 points -110
Under 229.5 points -110

Denver got a real boost out of Nikola Jokic last night, as he scored a career-high 30 points. In the opening quarter, the Nuggets simply blew Orlando out of the Pepsi Center, hitting 70% of their shots. And this may for a lot of work for Emmanuel Mudiay, who had 13 assists. There is a lot of young talent on this team, mixed in with veterans like Kenneth Faried, but it's just a matter of putting it all together.

LA Lakers oddsBetAnySports patrons might say the same thing about the Lakers, who added Brandon Ingram to a young, talented cast this season. But first-year head coach Luke Walton has been frustrated with their inability to play together. And they have not shot well lately, hitting under 42% of their shots over the last four games, getting blown out by the Blazers, San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers.

So can Denver continue with its hot hand? Well, it's not like the Lakers put a fortress in front of the basket; they have allowed 48% shooting this season, so things would appear to be wide open. These teams played four times last season, and Denver won straight up, by double digits, both times at the Staples Center.
