The San Diego State Aztecs will welcome back Juwan Washington and Chrisitian Chapman as they take on the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday night.

The San Diego State Aztecs thought they might have another 2000-yard rusher on their hands when Juwan Washington got off to a huge start for them. But electric that by an injury, dashing those plans. Washington, however, is expected to be in action as they face the New Mexico Lobos in a Mountain West Conference game at 10:15 PM ET on ESPNU. Meanwhile, the, BYU Cougars, an independent who were stymied last week against Northern Illinois, pay a visit to the Blue Carpet and the Mountain West's Boise State Broncos. That is an ESPN2 start at 10:15 PM ET.

Whatever game you're playing, BetAnySports can accommodate you with reduced juice for better odds, and Live Betting Ultra, which enables you to stay in the action throughout the proceedings.

Last week, San Diego State had its six-game winning streak broken with a 28-24 loss to Nevada. But they hope for better fortune this week, as they bring some players back to the lineup. Washington, who had 513 rushing yards in the first four games, then fractured a clavicle, will not start for them, but will play at some point, as will fullback Isaac Lessard, was also coming back from injury. And while Ryan Agnew will get the start at quarterback, Christian Chapman, the original starter who has missed six games in a row, will see action as well.

New Mexico, which sits with a 3-5 record, both straight-up and against the pointspread, might be at a low point in the season, as last week they gave up 704 yards of offense, trailing 52-5 at the half, and lost 61-19 to Utah State. Now they are calling for Bob Davie's scalp in Albuquerque. The Lobos will go back to Coltin Gerhart at quarterback; he got injured in the opening game but is now being brought on to replace Sheriron Jones. New Mexico can also be expected to emphasize the run a little more. However, that's pretty bad news against these Aztecs, who are second in the nation in rushing defense, allowing just 81 yards per game and 2.4 yards per carry.

The latest odds at BetAnySports for this Mountain West football encounter have San Diego State favored by 12, with a total of 45, and we are comfortable laying the points.

In another game, the Boise State Broncos play host to the BYU Cougars at Albertsons Stadium, housing what is more famously known as the "Blue Carpet." BYU was flummoxed last week, held to just a pair field goals against Northern Illinois in a 7-6 loss. They had hoped to put an offensive spark into this team with the insertion of freshman quarterback Zach Wilson, but the jury is still out on him. Interestingly enough, Wilson was recruited by Boise State head coach Brian Harsin, who thought he had assigned, but Wilson changed his mind the last minute and committed to BYU.

Brett Rypien is one of the more accurate passers in the nation, completing 69% for the Broncos, and this is a highly functional offense, converting on third down 55.6% of the time. Rypien can get his team out of tough spots; in situations where he is facing third and 10 or longer, he is 75% accurate. Boise State ranks 13th in the nation in Total Offense, which absolutely marks a strong contrast with BYU, which is ranked 120th. But the Cougars, who have risen to the occasion in wins over Arizona and Wisconsin, as well as a 26-point romp over pass-happy Hawaii, are in the nation's top 30 in both total defense and passing defense.

While Northern Illinois is a member of the lightly-regarded Mid-American Conference, they do have a stout defense, so it's not necessarily shameful that BYU had trouble against them. The Broncos are a little "softer," and they have experienced some injury attrition on the defensive side, which does raise a concern. Still, the fact that the Cougars have, for the most part, had execution problems and serious areas of inconsistency, whether Wilson or Tanner Mangum has been the quarterback, doesn't necessarily bode well for them here. Boise State is a 12.5-point favorite, with a total of 53.5 points, and all things considered,.we are leaning toward the UNDER in this one.
