The New England Patriots will be missing Julian Edelman from their lineup on Monday night as they face off against the Buffalo Bills. Can Tom Brady and his offensive teammates pick up the slack, as the Pats try to improve to 10-0?

Can the New England Patriots remain undefeated, despite losing their top wide receiver? That is unquestionably something for Monday night football bettors to ponder as Bill Belichick's team takes on Rex Ryan and of the Buffalo Bills in a game that will begin at 8:30 PM ET at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. Like all Monday night games, this will be televised live on ESPN, and BetAnySports customers are going to have the opportunity, even after the opening kickoff, to test their skills against the football odds in real time as they utilize the state-of-the-art software made available through Live Betting Extra.

The Patriots have not been seriously challenged in the AFC East, although each of the three other teams has had high hopes. Buffalo was brimming with confidence coming out of its opening game, as the Bills had shut Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts down, but Tom Brady issued a reality check, as he threw for 466 yards in a 40-32 victory at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Since then, it would be fair to say that Buffalo has gotten some of the aspects of its overall game together, including its rushing attack, so there should be less pressure on Tyrod Taylor, the mobile quarterback who threw three interceptions the first time around against New England. The Bills have rushed for 414 yards over the last two contests, and whether it is LaSean McCoy or Karlos Williams in the lineup, there is somebody very formidable for Belichick's defense to deal with.

And one of the big challenges for the defending Super Bowl champions is filling the vacuum left by the injury loss of Julian Edelman, who caught 61 passes for seven touchdowns but broke his foot and will be out anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks.

In the reduced juice Monday night football betting odds posted on this game by the people at BetAnySports, the champions are favored by a touchdown:

New England Patriots -7 (-104)
Buffalo Bills +7 (-106)

Over 48 points -102
Under 48 points -108

With that Week 2 victory, Brady upped his record against Buffalo to 24-3 as a starting quarterback. He has completed 68% of his passes, with 24 touchdowns and just three interceptions. This is somewhat remarkable in that he's been dealing with a patchwork offensive line virtually the entire way. Bill Belichick and his staff have had to manage this situation despite all the injuries, and right now it could probably be said that the Pats are about as healthy along that offensive front as they have been in quite a while. What does that mean? Well, it means that they will have three or four healthy offensive tackles for change, including Sebastian Vollmer and Marcus Cannon, who are coming back from a concussion and toe injury, respectively, putting in nearly a full week of practice in preparation for this one.

So BetAnySports patrons may want to know what will they do to replace Edelman, who had caught 61 passes for 692 yards? It appears as if they will plug-in Danny Amendola, who has been functioning as the third receiver and has 40 receptions. They will mix in some double tight end formations, which is usually beneficial when you have somebody like Rob Gronkowski (49 catches, 806 yards) operating. The guy who might be the X-factor here is Brandon LaFell, the speedster who is averaging 18.5 yards per catch, but has not been involved enough. He's the guy Brady is most likely to turn to when he wants to go down the field. The ground game will loom large here, so the Bills will have to gear themselves to slow down LeGarrette Blount, who's got 513 yards and six TD's on the ground.
