St. Louis Cardinals (Mikolas) @ Philadelphia Phillies (Pivetta) 7:05 ET
Game# 951-952
At this current time, the best MLB money line odds for St. Louis is at Bookmaker where they’re -101 on the money line. That’s a decent betting value in my eyes considering the disparity in each of these starting pitchers recent forms.
Philadelphia’s Nick Pivetta has exhibited poor form over his last 3 starts while posting a large 8.36 ERA and 1.86 WHIP. Philadelphia’s bullpen has been shaky throughout their previous 7 games which is proven by its lofty 5.36 ERA during that span.
The Cardinals Miles Mikolas has compiled a stellar 1.89 ERA and 0.90 WHIP throughout his last 3 starts. Mikolas will be supported by a St. Louis bullpen staff that’s been very good over their last 7 games. During that time, Cardinals relievers have a cumulative 3.04 ERA and 0.90 WHIP
Pick: St. Louis Cardinals -101
Milwaukee Brewers (Chacin) @ Pittsburgh Pirates (Williams) 7:05 ET
Game# 953-954
Pittsburgh’s Jerome Williams has been brutal of late while collecting a huge 9.82 ERA and 2.27 WHIP during his last 3 starts. He doesn’t figure to get much help from a Pirates bullpen that’s been wobbly during the past week.
Currently, Milwaukee is a -120 money line favorite at BetOnline. The Brewers Jhoulys Chacin is a perfect 8-0 in his team starts this season as a money line favorite of -110 or greater. Chacin has also been tough during his last 3 starts while recording a sparkling 2.00 ERA and 0.94 WHIP. As a matter of fact, Chacin has allowed 1 earned run or less in 4 of his previous 6 starts. Additionally, Milwaukee is an outstanding 15-4 in away games this year when their money line is +125 to -125.
Pick: Milwaukee Brewers -120
Los Angeles Dodgers (Maeda) @ Chicago Cubs (Chatwood) 8:05
Game# 955-956
First year Chicago Cub Tyler Chatwood has been a disappointment thus far in 2018. The former Colorado Rockies right-handed hurler has a sizable 1.75 WHIP in 13 starts. The Cubs are coming off a Sunday night nationally televised 5-0 loss at St. Louis. It marked the 3rd time in 5 games in which they were held scoreless.
The Dodgers Kent Maeda has displayed very good form over his last 4 starts while accumulating a stellar 1.69 ERA. The Dodgers were a 4-1 loser to NL West rival San Francisco on Sunday afternoon. However, Los Angeles has gone a perfect 7-0 in its last 7 following a loss in their previous game.
Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -112
Arizona Diamondbacks (Greinke) @ Los Angeles Angels (Barria) 10:05 ET
Game# 967-968
Zack Greinke is having his worst start to a season in quite a while. Grienke has especially struggled in his 6 road starts where he’s amassed a 5.91 ERA while allowing 10 home runs during just 35.0 innings pitched.
The Angels Jaime Barria has been terrific through 4 home starts in 2018. During those outings in Anaheim, Barria has gathered a shiny 2.14 ERA. Barria has allowed only an average of 5.3 hits per start this season. That’s great news for Angels backers when considering Arizona is a dismal 10-20 this year when facing a starting pitcher who allows 5.5 or less hits per start.
With all factors being accounted for, and at this cheap of a money line price, I can’t pass up an enticing home betting value such as this one. As a result, one of my Monday MLB free picks will be reflective of the prior statement. After shopping for the best available money line, I located precisely that at Heritage.
Pick: Los Angeles Angels -118
