International Champions Cup

The weekend rolls on with another high-profile International match-up, as both French and German domestic league champions meet up for a UEFA League re-match, with bragging rights at stake during this pre-season tour.

Enjoy day two of this of this up and coming competition, with so many clubs looking to get their conditioning and tactics correct ahead of another grueling season, these matches are great situations to incorporate players who might not get as many minutes, as they would other-wise prefer.

Worthersee Stadion, Klagenfurt, Austria

The first match to take place in Europe during the International Champions Cup, will feature two squads who also make the trip with half-staffed squads, but each still offer plenty of quality to entertain the loyal spectators.

Bayern Munich will be without the services of James Rodriguez, Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer and most notably Robert Lewandowski, who has been rumored with a potential move to Manchester United, as the Red Devils eye the Polish tally's man.

The Bavarians will introduce their new manager against the Parisians. Niko Kovac will make his debut on the sideline with the German giants, after taking over the reigns in a move from Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of last season.

The Croatian head-man seems poised to roll out a 4-3-3 formation, with veterans Sandro Wagner, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry all set to get the starts atop the Bayern front-line, with plenty of experience leading the attack, Kovas feels comfortable with his threats in front of goal.

PSG also unveil their own new manager this season, although Thomas Tuchel has been involved in two pre-season matches to start his career in Paris, the former Dortmund manager feels confident in facing a familiar foe to start their International Cup tour.

The list of house-hold names missing from this feared French side is also quite large, with Neymar, Edinson Cavani and teen sensation Kylian Mbappe all still on vacation, the opportunity for young American Timothy Weah to lead the line for this massive club is priceless, as he looks to solidify his spot on the full squad to start the 2018-2019 campaign.

This is another match-up with two sides still full of world class quality, although many of the high priced players are missing from the starting elevens, each team possess incredible depth, with the Germans looking to have more experience, and a cohesion with playing with one another over the course of 90 minutes.
