The Intralot Italia branch of Greek-owned gaming and lottery provider Intralot has become the latest operator to launch virtual sports products from server-based gaming specialist Inspired Gaming.

The deal will see Intralot Italia become the eighth operator in Italy to begin offering the virtual sports services.

Intralot Italia will dedicate two of its channels to the virtual sports games, which will include football, horse-racing, tennis and cycling titles.

"The strategic alliance with Inspired Gaming Group, benefitting from their experience in the virtual games industry, is another example of Intralot Italia's continued commitment to providing leading gaming alternatives to meet the ever increasing demands of our customers," Intralot Italia chief executive officer Emilio Iaia said.

Vitaliano Casalone, president of Inspired Italia, added: "Inspired has seen phenomenal growth in the Italian market over the last year.

"Our success is largely due to the research we have undertaken to understand the Italian player, and the content that we have developed to address their preferences.

"With our eighth virtual sports customer now live in Italy, we are well on our way to our virtual sports being live across 10,000 venues in Italy in the near future.

"We are committed to maintaining our launches in new bet markets and we have a number of innovations in the pipeline, which we will be announcing early next year."
