Will Helio Castroneves win his fourth Indy 500? That's is what is on many people's minds as he gets ready to do battle at the Brickyard.

The preparation for the Indianapolis 500 has been kind of strange, because there have been a lot of accidents in practice, with no real explanation. Some of the biggest drivers in the sport have fallen victim, but almost all of them will be there when the command, "Gentlemen, start your engines!" Comes at 12:15 PM ET at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

BetAnySports customers who follow the IndyCar circuit closely, and maybe even some of those who don't, are aware that Helio Castroneves is chasing history. Castroneves won the Indy 500 on his first two tries, in 2001 and 2002, then won it for third time in 2009. However, he has been shut out ever since. Last year he got oh so close but lost out by 6/100 of a second to Ryan Hunter Reay in what was the second-closest finish ever in "the Greatest Spectacle in Racing."

Castroneves has had kind of a difficult road leading up to this race. He was in the Grand Prix of Indianapolis which took place a couple of weeks ago on the infield, and was penalized eight points for allegedly causing a mishap. Then he flipped his car during practice, but nonetheless will start fifth in the field. If he wins this race, he will join AJ Foyt, Rick Mears and Al Unser as the only drivers to have won the Indy 500 four times. Currently he is priced at +600 and the auto racing betting odds.

The favorite in this race is the guy who has pole position. Scott Dixon is priced at +500, and he was the winner of this event back in 2008. He is also part of one of the head-to-head propositions that are offered at the BetAnySports interface, as he is a -130 favorite over Castroneves. Rounding out the front row is Will Power, a teammate of Castroneves on the Penske team who is +600, and Simon Pagenaud, yet another Penske driver who is the second favorite at +575. Pagenaud made a little bit of controversial news during the week as he criticized James Hinchcliffe's team for using old parts in a car during practice. Hinchcliffe suffered a bizarre accident in which one of those parts when into his leg, and that required surgery which has kept him out of this race.

There has been some hard luck surrounding the Andretti family over the years, as with many representatives, they still have won only one Indy 500 in 53 starts. That was in 1969, with the immortal Mario at the controls. Marco Andretti will give it a go again this year, and he starts from the #8 spot, which is not sensational but still puts him into the third row. Andretti is priced at +1100. Also, David Letterman, who just signed off on his late-night television show, is back in action, in a sense, as he is one of the owners of the car driven by Graham Rahal, who has two second-place finishes in IndyCar racing this season but is nonetheless a +5000 long shot at BetAnySports, where not only can you take advantage of many options to bet the Indy 500, but also open up your account using your Visa card or Bitcoin!
