IGT secures multi-hand poker patent in US



International Game Technology (IGT) has announced that its operating company has been awarded exclusive rights for multi-hand poker functionality in video poker games in the US.

US Patent No. 9,105,158 will run through to November 2016.

The patent will cover a selection of IGT's multi-hand video poker titles, such as 'All-Star Poker', 'Triple Play', 'Five Play', Ultimate X Poker' and 'Hyper Bonus Poker'.

The new patent will also cover a range of other five, 10, 25, 50 and 100 play IGT video poker products.

Jacob Lanning, vice-president of product management at IGT, said: "Multi-hand poker remains a pillar of IGT's industry-leading video poker product portfolio.

"This important patent enables IGT to maintain its global leadership in video poker content creation and deployment and allows the company to continue to create proven game themes that are often some of the highest-earning titles on our customers' floors."
