Basketball bettors have taken Syracuse from a Pick to a two-point home favorite over Louisville. Regardless of the spread, here is what you have to ask yourself. How many three's can the Cardinals make against the Syracuse 2-3 zone? If it's eight, their season average of nine or more, Louisville wins. If it is six or fewer, advantage Orange. The other aspect of the game, how will the 'Cuse shoot? They only connect on 42.5% on average, thus, they are as likely to make under 40% as they are over 45%. The Orange can win and cover, but I'll stick with the more consistent Louisville bunch that is 6-0 ATS away when the total is 130 to 139.5.

With five returning starters and a solid head coach in Barry Hinson, Southern Illinois was supposed to be a Missouri Valley contender. Instead, the Salukis are a disappointing 14-13 and 7-7 SU all told and in league play. However, against Valparaiso, they still are attracting enough support to be flipped from a one-point road underdog to a 1.5-point favorite. Valpo is strictly a transition scoring team, who really struggles in half court offense. This season they are only 7-6 at home (3-8 ATS), while SIU is 10-4 ATS in The Valley. SIU is also 11-3 ATS on the road in a revenge spot after falling as a home favorite.
