The New England Patriots come into the Sunday night NBC game with a perfect 10-0 record, and even though they don't have to face Peyton Manning, they will encounter a very aggressive Denver Broncos defense.

The New England Patriots have a perfect 10-0 record at the moment, but when you going to Mile High to face the Denver Broncos, you are always going to be in dangerous territory. That is particularly true this season, as Denver may have the best defense in all of the NFL. So the stage is set, as the Pats try to remain unscathed, and things get underway at 8:30 PM ET at Sports Authority Field. Even after the opening kickoff, BetAnySports customers have the opportunity to place their wagers against the football betting odds in real-time through the facilities of Live Betting Extra.

Last week, New England was held to a season-low 20 points by the Buffalo Bills, who did a pretty good job defending tight end Rob Gronkowski. It will be interesting to see if the Broncos, who have the artful Wade Phillips as their defensive coordinator, look to emulate that blueprint. Certainly this team has all the capability to be able to give Tom Brady a hard time, but we must keep in mind that through the years, Brady has been able to connect even without a stellar set of receivers. This season he has tossed 25 touchdown passes with only four interceptions, and his team has produced 6.4 yards per play.

Denver, of course, will be starting Brock Osweiler at quarterback in place of Peyton Manning, who will be resting for the next couple of weeks. Manning has a foot injury, and before he was taken out of the lineup he had thrown 17 interceptions. Osweiler completed 20 out of 27 passes in his first NFL start at Chicago last weekend.

In the football betting odds posted on this game by the people at BetAnySports, the Patriots are favored on the road:

New England Patriots -2.5
Denver Broncos +2.5

Over 42.5 points -110
Under 42.5 points -110

The Patriots were already handicapped with the loss of versatile running back Dion Lewis and pass receiving machine Julian Edelman, as now they have more hardship to deal with. Danny Amendola, who caught nine passes for 117 yards last week against Buffalo, and was expected to be an adequate fill-in for Edelman, who is out for the season, will be missing from this game himself with an injury. It seems he has a sprained knee, and this leaves New England with just two wide receivers, Brandon Lafell and Chris Harper.

Does this make things easier for the Denver defense? This is a squad that has intercepted 18 passes on the year and sacked the quarterback 34 times. They are the third-best defense in the league in terms of yards allowed on a per-drive basis. Unquestionably they will be challenged by New England, which converts 46.5% of its third-down opportunities.

And of the Broncos may have a certain amount of difficulty keeping Osweiler up right. BetAnySports patrons who look at the statistics will notice, no doubt, that he has been sacked eight times in 63 passing plays. It is imperative that Denver be able to run the football, and they showed some encouraging signs last week as Ronnie Hillman and CJ Anderson combined for 161 yards against the Bears. Also, Vernon Davis, the tight end recently acquired from San Francisco, had six catches for 68 yards.

On the technical side, New England has a less-than-sterling 7-11 ATS record in its last 18 road games. And it has been three straight games where they have not reached 30 points, where they had done so in six of the previous seven.
