FIFA World Cup Group C Prediction - France vs Peru

The second set of Group C matches will take center-stage on Thursday's schedule, with European favorites France and Denmark grabbing all three points during their opening fixtures, each now have the opportunity to advance to the Round of 16 with a pair of victories.

Australia and Peru will certainly have a say in that matter. After both nations narrowly lost their chances to grab positive points to start the round of play, the minnow sides look to rebound and keep their hopes alive of a deep run while in Russia.

Wednesday presented us with another classic case of tournament football, often matches are much tighter than they public would expect, with goals being at a premium based on the high level of attention given on the defensive side of the ball. Thursday should offer up a bit more on the excitement side, with these specific match-ups presenting more quality between the combination of teams, providing a better overall product for us as viewers to enjoy.

Les Bleus get back to business after a late own goal provided them with a share of the group lead, while the Peruvians will try and avoid an early elimination after a 36 year wait to return to the World Cup.

France needed the help of video assistance on two separate instances in order to top the Socceroos during their opening fixture, now the French side can see the finish line ahead. With high expectations entering this summer's event, Les Bleus know a victory against Peru will see them through too the Round of 16.

Didier Deschamps understands the importance of his teams time while in Russia, after failing to win the Euro's 2016 on their own soil, the French also had a embarrassing early exit in Brazil 2014. The European representatives now feel they are much more suited for this particular event, with many of their national team members gaining valuable experience over the past few years.

Deschamps seems to be taking no chances, as he is expected to field his strongest starting eleven going into Thursday's fixture. Primarily based out of a 4-4-2 formation during qualifiers, the French manager chose to introduce a 4-3-3 at the end of 2017 to allow more freedom for his talented front-line players.

Antoine Griezmann was at the center of the switch in tactical philosophy, the Atletico Madrid attacking midfielder is regarded as the most influential player on this French side, providing both a combination of skillful passing techniques, and clinical finishing abilities while in the attacking half of the pitch. The French-man posted 31 Goals and 13 Assists in all competitions during the 2017-2018 campaign, making his services a necessity if Les Bleus are to have any chances of grabbing their first International title since 1998.

Griezmann is blessed with the benefit of superior attacking threats in Frances star-studded partnership. Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappé are each legitimate threats in Les Bleus's plan of attack, as both provide superior goal finishing abilities in their own different ways.

Expect Giroud to feed off of service, as the Premier League striker is highly efficient inside and around the box, while Mbappé uses his pace and superior athleticism to overwhelm his defenders, in route to placing the ball in the back of the net.

The French midfield will also play a significant role against this pesky Peru side. Paul Pogba will be called upon to handle many of the creative responsibilities in Deschamps plan of attack, Pogba can be special at unlocking defenses while going forward, as he looks to place his danger men in the best positions to succeed. N'Golo Kanté will handle much of the dirty work required to grab a positive result, the Chelsea man continues to be in the right place at the right time, cleaning up many of the messes that are created on the defensive side of the ball, while linking up his front-line players with his above average passing abilities, and unique vision.

The Les Bleus back-line will receive a true challenge from their South American opponents. Peru are truly fearless while in attack, making Samuel Umtiti and Raphael Varane's jobs that much more important, as the duo are placed in charge of handling the central defensive responsibilities.

Hugo Lloris will once again be called upon in this particular event, after providing an admirable job in goal against Australia, Lloris must now be prepared to fight off a lethal Peruvian attack that are relentless while in the final third of the pitch. The French keeper will certainly be placed in a position to fight off several shots on target during this crucial Group C fixture.

France have started this World Cup on a positive note, posting 2 goals on the board in their first FIFA World Cup fixture.

Les Bleus were unable to keep a clean-sheet as they began their International run, conceding 1 goal during their first FIFA World Cup fixture.

France vs Peru prediction

Peru traveled to Russia as a popular dark-house pick to advance, but after being stymie by a concentrated Denmark side, the CONMEBOL representatives must now fight for their World Cup lives, as they look to avoid a early exit from the Group C table.

Ricardo Gareca has fallen under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, after leaving his main danger man Paolo Guerrero on the bench to start the match against the Danes.

Gareca now must lead his side to a positive result, as he looks to restore confidence back in his side and prove his overall leadership abilities.

Christian Cueva arguably missed one of the biggest penalty kicks in Peru's national team history. With the opportunity to grab a first half lead going into halftime, the Sao Paulo attacking midfielder sailed the shot over the top of goal, keeping the Peruvian's off the score-board and ultimately playing a key role in his side failing to grab positive points to start their World Cup run.

Paolo Guerrero is slated to lead the line in Peru's 4-2-3-1 formation, after making a second half appearance on Saturday, the 'la Blanquirroja' tally's man was unable to cause any real troubles for the Denmark defense. Guerrero is a true presence in the box, taking advantage of pin-point service and using his incredible Aerial abilities to cause headaches for opposing defenses.

Gareca could also be in line to make additional changes to his starting eleven. Jefferson Farfan and Edison Flores could be possible sacrifices to the bench for more experienced options against Les Bleus. The Peruvian task-master is certain to try and shake up his team, as he understands the importance of scoring goals and keeping up with this powerful French side.

Pedro Gallese had a excellent showing during his first World Cup appearance in goal, although the Peru keeper was beaten on a spectacular goal from Yussuf Poulsen, he was still up to the task and showed some true qualities to his game.  Even though Gallese impressed against Denmark, he will have to top his performance against France, who are one of the more dangerous attacking sides in the 32 team field.

Peru created several chances on goal but were unable to make the break-through, failing to score a goal in their first FIFA World Cup fixture.

The Peruvian's were truly organized over the course of 90 minutes, although they were unable to keep a clean-sheet, conceding 1 Goal during their first FIFA World Cup fixture.

France vs Peru Prediction:

This is another case of two sides who prefer to go forward in attack, as Peru proved they can break-down a strong European side on the offensive end. All though they were not rewarded with a Goal, the Peruvian's proved to be dangerous for the entire 90 minutes.

France will create several opportunities on goal, that is a given based on the world class players they field in their starting eleven, making for a highly entertaining affair when these two highly aggressive sides step onto the pitch.

Les Bleus are familiar with participating in tight matches during their time in International play, collecting one goal victories during their last 3 FIFA fixtures, providing a certain amount of confidence heading into this marquee Group C match-up.
