England Premier League - Match Day 28

10313 Liverpool - 10314 West Ham

Anfield, Liverpool, England

2-24-2018 - 10:00 am ET

The Reds return to Anfield for their first match since a dominating 0-5 performance over Porto, Liverpool will now refocus on a top 4 finish in the ultra-competitive English Premier League, while the Hammers of West Ham will make their annual visit to the grand stadium with intentions of shocking the England giant's, while taking positive points back to London as they look to continue to climb the EPL table.

West Ham make the trip north full of confidence, the Hammers have continued to erase their dreadful start to the Premier League campaign, the Londoners have failed to taste defeat in 7 of the last 8 domestic fixtures they have participated in, having produced 13 points over that span of play, the guests are equipped to take points back with them to London Stadium.

The Hammers will take to the pitch at Anfield in 12th place, owners of a 7-9-11 record through the first 27 Rounds of battle, the guests own 30 points and only find themselves 1 point from cracking the top 10 in the EPL table.

Scottish head man David Moyes has turned his career around with the London side, after a decade of excellence while at Everton, Moyes has been on a 5 year journey to return back to his winning ways after a series of bad landing spots that seemed to have tarnished his reputation, but with the sacking of Slaven Bilić early into the new season, the EPL veteran manager has since pulled West Ham out of the relegation zone, while restoring his status as one of the brighter minds within the coaching ranks.

Moyes has instituted a 3-4-3 formation during his time with the club, West Ham are a scrappy side who play with aggression during each shift they take part in, the Hammers are fluent in recovering from difficult positions and creating a positive outcome.

Expect the visitors to also play with width within their offensive strategy, using a multitude of crosses and creative long balls over the top of the defense, the Reds must keep the Hammers in front of them as they will consistently look to get behind them and test their shaky Goal Keepers.

The Hammers will unfortunately still be without the services of Manuel Lanzini, the Argentine play-maker continues to be sidelined and leaves a crucial hole in the West Ham midfield.

New winter transfer signing  João Mário will attempt to fill the void left by Lanzini, the Portuguese International does possess pure quality, while bringing his own fare to the pitch, aligned with the likes of "Chicharito" and Marko Arnautovic on the front-line, the trio have a combined 14 Goals and 7 Assists for the Liverpool defensive back-end to deal with.

West Ham have performed well away from the Olympic Stadium, scoring an average of 1.3 Goals per match in their last 14 Premier League road games.

The West Ham defense has been a major concern during their travels, the Hammers are conceding an astounding 2.1 Goals per match in their last 14 Premier League road games.

Liverpool will relish the opportunity of welcoming their London rivals to Anfield, the Reds have unquestionably shared a tremendous amount of success against the Hammers over the years, winning 16 of the last 17 matches in all competitions on the famed patch.

The Reds will enter Round 28 in a position of power, currently holding the 3rd spot with a overall record of 15-9-3 and 54 impressive points, Liverpool stand a chance of capturing 2nd place with a Win, and then a Loss by Manchester United against Chelsea on Sunday.

Jürgen Klopp will certainly have his side motivated for this EPL event, knowing the importance of capturing points with only 11 games remaining in the season, the German head man will look to build off of Liverpool's 15 match unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

Klopp has also been consistent in his plan of attack, preferring a lethal 4-3-3 formation which presses their opponents into repeated mistakes, the Reds prey off their oppositions miscues while using world class talent to take advantage of those situations.

The hosts are also clinical within the open field, their counter attacking football produces non-stop highlights, while creating a barrage of shots on goal through individual skill and a well orchestrated passing game, the Reds will put on a show each and every time they step onto the pitch.

Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are scheduled to lead the line, as Klopp is set to field his strongest starting eleven ahead of this particular fixture, the attacking Trio have ran a muck on opposing defenses throughout Europe, compiling an astonishing 63 combined Goals in all Competitions, they are must options for Anytime Goal Scorers against a Hammers defense who have traditionally struggled while at Anfield.

Liverpool have been a wrecking crew while at their famous Stadium, scoring an average of 2.1 Goals per match in their last 13 Premier League home games.

The Liverpool defense has been sharp in front of their own fans, keeping clean 7 sheets, while conceding 0.7 Goals per match in their last 13 Premier League home games.

Prediction:

Liverpool should feel right at home while sharing the pitch with West Ham, the Reds have been an offensive machine while matched up with the Hammers.

The Reds have scored at least 2 Goals in 9 of their last 10 domestic matches, while posting at least 2 Goals in their last 3 meetings with West Ham.

West Ham have also been involved in high scoring affairs, having seen the Total exceed 2.5 Goals in 6 of their Last 7 away fixtures in league play, while Liverpool have seen the Total eclipse 2.5 Goals in their last 4 Premier League home games.

Liverpool must look to exploit West Hams weakness to defend on the Counter Attack where the Reds are top class, the home side will also look to attack through the middle of the pitch with precise through balls that can routinely slice up the Hammers.

West Ham must also look to use their own set of through balls and a blend of longs balls over the Liverpool defense, while also looking to get on the board through any Set Piece situations,  the hosts have been known to struggle to mark their men in the box.

The Home side should have to much in the tank for the Londoners, while keeping their Goal scoring trend in tact for another round of play.
