English Premier League

The EPL continues another edition of their midweek fixtures. Tuesday opened the abbreviated round of play for teams with a match in hand, now with three more fixtures on the docket for Wednesday night, the remaining teams will battle it out for precious points in the table.

Watford and Wolves were victorious on day one, setting up for their FA Cup meeting over the weekend, while Manchester United and Fulham came up on the opposite end of the spectrum, with the Cottagers the second official team to face relegation in England's top flight table.

The day has finally arrived for the official opening of the new White Hart Lane, after several delays the state of the art stadium is set to be released for the world to view, as Spurs attempt to christen their new grounds with a positive result.

Tottenham steps onto their new pitch off a disappointing result their last time out, dropping all three points to Liverpool in the dying stages of their big six encounter. Spurs now enter this London Derby with only one victory in their last six in all competitions, placing added pressure to collect points in the race for Champions League considerations.

Mauricio Pochettino is suddenly feeling pressure to keep his team in alive in the top four of the standings. Manchester United did provide Spurs with a gift by dropping points to Wolves, leaving the north Londoner's in a prime position to separate themselves from the Red Devil's on the day.

Spurs Injury Plagued Season

The hosts have endured injuries throughout their current campaign, causing them to use multiple lineups during the season, which has led to an inconsistent run of form at times in their chase for EPL silverware.

Eric DierHarry Winks, Erik Lamela, and Fernando Llorente have all been officially ruled out of contention for Wednesday's match, while Serge Aurier will be assessed ahead of kickoff, with the Spurs defender a crucial part to the home side back-line.

Pochettino still has the core of his unit intact, with "Golden Boot" winner Harry Kane set to help lead the line for his boyhood club. Kane enters this all London affair with 17 domestic goals on the season. The immensely talented center-forward will be keen to bag the first official goal at his team's new stadium, placing added value for the English international as an anytime goal-scorer.

Player Prop
Harry Kane - Anytime Goal Scorer  -140 / 1.71

Son Heung-Min and Dele Alli will offer support for their fellow danger-man, each fully capable of taking a match over in their own right, with 16 goals and seven assists to their names, they offer additional class atop Spurs front-line.

Christian Eriksen will also be another critical component of the team's overall success. The Danish creative midfielder is the real architect in the middle of the pitch, responsible for pulling the strings that set this high powered attack into motion, with 13 assists in all competitions, his passing skills are apparent regardless if for club or country.

Tottenham enters the match day with a slim hold over the fourth spot in the standings, with 61 points, they are feeling pressure from both Chelsea and Manchester United who are right on their heels, making Wednesday's match a must-win situation in England's top league.

Crystal Place makes the short trip across town for their second meeting with Spurs on the season. The Eagles are hoping to turn around their recent misfortunes against their London rivals, carrying a 1-1-8 record in their last ten meetings with Tottenham in all competitions.

Roy Hodgson has been a stabilizing force since taking over the managerial duties last season. The veteran taskmaster saved the south London side from a historically bad start to the 2017-2018 campaign, and now Hodgson has his team on another stable path to safety in his second season with the club.

Palace To Play Spoiler

The Eagles will undoubtedly want to ruin Tottenham's big day, placing their names in the history books, while adding a much needed three points towards their season total.

The visitors present their own set of troubles moving forward in attack, one of the more athletic squads in the league, and they are sure to create their chances in front of goal.

Wilfried Zaha has long been the teams shining star. His playmaking skills keep defenders off balance, able to get where ever he pleases with the ball at his feet, Zaha will present Tottenham's makeshift back-line with plenty of challenges, as he always seems to make his presence known when his team needs him the most.

The Londoner's also reinforced their squad over the Winter, bringing in well-traveled Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi to help provide the team with some much-needed goal scoring. Batshuayi has failed to find a permanent landing spot despite his undeniable talent, Wednesday's match will be another audition as he attempts to find a permanent suitor.

Luka Milivojevic may be the teams most influential player on both sides of the pitch, able to eliminate impending threats with his ball intercepting skills. He also enjoys placing the ball in the back of the net, with ten goals in 31 league appearances, Milivojevic can be clinical when able to find open space.

The visitors make the trip near full strength, with only Mamadou Sakho set to miss this London derby, the Eagles will have plenty of healthy members to help ruin Tottenham's big day.

Crystal Palace has traditionally struggled during their travels to the north side, being held scoreless in five of their last six visits to Spurs home base, giving them added motivation to turn this most impoverished trend around.

Tottenham vs. Crystal Palace - Match Prediction

The stage could not be more significant for both teams involved, with each armed with their own agenda's, we should witness one of the more entertaining contests of this brief round of play.

Tottenham should be prime to put on a memorable performance, despite losing to Liverpool on Sunday, Spurs took over the match in the second half and played some of the best football I have witnessed from the club all season long. The home-side should feel confident they are close to finding their winning ways again.

Pochettino's men are most dangerous in counter-attacking situations, and they are always looking to set their pacey trigger-men into motion, knowing Palace struggle to defend such scenarios, I anticipate seeing at least one goal created from a fast-breaking situation.

Match Prop
Tottenham - To Score In Both Halves - Yes   +110 / 2.1

Crystal Palace relies on their aggressive play to set their offense into motion, wanting to turn their opponents over and place their wingers in favorable positions to succeed. Palace has turned their goal-scoring deficiencies away from home as of late, hitting the back of the net multiple times in five of the last six road games, placing them in a favorable position as the leave Selhurst Park once again.

This particular matchup tends to be cagey affairs, with the over/under record at 2-8 during their last ten meetings. The first meeting of the season only produced one goal, but I anticipate seeing more action this go around, with Tottenham bagging at least two goals to open up the new White Hart Lane, while Crystal Place should collect at least one for their troubles on the day as well.
