English Premier League Match Day 28

The Premiership offers up another installment of their midweek fixtures, with many of the leagues middle to lower level clubs taking to the pitch on Tuesday night, the countries giants will assume the spotlight on day two of round 28.

Manchester City and Liverpool have established themselves at the teams to beat down the stretch, with Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United all in contention to claim the final two spots for Champions League participation next season, making each point crucial towards each team's long term goals.

The marquee match-up on the card provides us with another classic London Derby. Tottenham travel to west London for another installment of this longstanding rivalry, against the Blues of Chelsea FC.

Chelsea is in the midst of a turbulent time within their ranks. The Blues are currently experiencing a tough stretch of the season, their recent run of poor performances has caused them to plummet out of the race for Europe's top tournament.

Maurizio Sarri continues to lose his grip on the teams
dressing room. The Italian manager was the toast of the town during the first quarter of the new campaign, now with a dreadful run of form underneath his belt, the former Napoli man is being second-guessed on a daily basis.

Sarri's Inability To Adapt

The Chelsea head-man has found adjusting to his new surrounding's more difficult than he had originally anticipated. The Blue's first-year coach is under immense pressure to correct his tactics, the repeated errors with line-ups, formations, and in-game adjustments have many west London faithful asking for a new sideline general.

Sarri will be forced to make several changes to his starting eleven, after participating in extra-time against Manchester City in pursuit of a cup title, he now has added pressure to field a competitive squad with Spurs coming to town.

Gonzalo Higuain is scheduled to get the start atop the Blue's front-line, the Argentine was curiously placed on the bench during the teams EFL Cup defeat. Chelsea's number-nine will be fully rested as he offers his new team a true threat in front of goal, Higuain is also fully capable of integrating others, using an above average hold-up game, the hosts must get an all-around performance from their recent signing, to have a successful day at the office.

The home side will call on the services of Eden Hazard down the wings, the Belgium playmaker slots back into his natural position for this latest London derby. Hazard rotates back from a false-nine role, able to have more freedom to cause mismatches while in the attacking half of the pitch, with 19 goals and 12 assists in all competitions, the Blue's danger-man will be responsible for much of the team's success while at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham is coming off their own disappointing result over the weekend. Spurs were upset by 14th place Burnley, all but eliminating the Londoner's chances of finally lifting a Premier League trophy this year.

Mauricio Pochettino is still searching for his first title with the club, although the Argentine manager has experienced a tremendous amount of success since arriving from Southampton in 2014, Pochettino has been unable to lift silverware when it matters the most.

Spur's Main Man Back In Action

The hosts were given a boost with the return of Harry Kane, the "Golden Boot" winner has fully recovered from an ankle injury he suffered against Manchester United last month. Kane has enjoyed facing the Blue's during his time in the EPL, the prolific striker has already found the back of the net 2 times in their prior meetings this season, giving Chelsea plenty of worries as the feared center-forward lingers in front of goal.
