The Oklahoma Sooners didn't exactly deliver the knockout punch to Texas as some may have assumed they would. On Saturday they will try to turn back revenge-seeking Kansas State in a Big 12 showdown.

There were a fair amount of people in the college football betting audience, including many customers at BetAnySports, who figured that the Oklahoma Sooners, coming off their resounding Sugar Bowl victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide, would have been prime contenders for national championship this season. Don't get us wrong; it is still a possibility that Oklahoma could make its way into the four-team national playoff. After all, they only have one defeat. But the Kansas State Wildcats are in the same category, which gives this Big 12 matchup a lot of meaning, as it gets underway at Noon ET in Norman, OK.

It was kind of crushing when Oklahoma went into Fort Worth and suffered a 37-33 defeat at the hands of TCU. In that game they had an awful time keeping quarterback Trevane Boykin under control. With all of the talent they had at their disposal, the general consensus among NCAA football bettors was that Oklahoma could come back really strong in what was a revenge situation against Texas in the traditional Red River Showdown. Instead, this team was held to just 232 yards of offense, with just one third-down conversion in eleven chances. That's not the kind of thing that inspires a lot of confidence in the people placing sportsbook wagers.

Currently Oklahoma is ranked 11th in the nation in both major polls, while Kansas State is #14 in both.

In the NCAA football odds that has been posted on this game at BetAnySports, Oklahoma is the home favorite:

Oklahoma Sooners -7 (-115)
Kansas State Wildcats +7 (-105)

Over 55 Points -110
Under 55 Points -110

First of all, it should be pointed out to college football bettors that Kansas State has a bit of a scheduling advantage, as head copach Bill Snyder has wisely arranged for a bye week before this game, while of course Oklahoma has had two rough outings against TCU and Texas, with a lot of emotions attached to them, over the last two weeks. This is also a revenge game for Kansas State, which was on the short end of the 41-31 defeat last year in Little Manhattan, in which the Wildcats managed just 24 net rushing yards. That was considered by many BetAnySports customers as the game in which Trevor Knight solidified his position as the #1 Oklahoma quarterback, as he threw for 253 yards.

Kansas State has not been tested to severely, except by Auburn, which scored a 20-14 victory on Kansas State's home field on September 18. So it is fair to say that K-State does not have a big-time notch in its belt, although the Wildcats were impressive last time out in blowing away defensively-challenged Texas Tech.

One has to unquestionably respect Oklahoma's running game, behind freshman Samaja Perine, but the single most dangerous weapon on the field in this one is going to the Tyler Lockett, the All-America caliber wide receiver for Kansas State was also averaged almost 27 yards per punt return. How KSU will perform on defense is something of a question, although it should be not much of a mystery, considering they kept Auburn under relative control. We mentioned this to BetAnySports patrons because of the fact that Oklahoma is coming off its all- time low offensive output under Bob Stoops, so it is debatable how much true explosiveness they have.

Something that might be of special interest to college football bettors is the fact that Kansas State has been simply sizzling as a road underdog, covering ten of its last 11 against the football pointspread in that role.

BetAnySports is the place to go if you want an even better price on this game, because they allow you to exercise reduced juice on college football, not to mention the NFL. Open an account today!
