Mike Clevinger takes the mound for the Cleveland Indians as they visit the Los Angeles Angels in baseball betting action for Tuesday night at The Big A in Anaheim.

The Cleveland Indians have now won 24 of their last 25 games, and they have also wrapped things up in the AL Central. Their "Pythagorean Win-Loss" record is 99-51, indicating that they have played even better than their actual 93-57 record denotes. And they are very much a part of the World Series discussion. They will be in action on Tuesday night in a game against the Los Angeles Angels, beginning at 10:05 PM ET at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. And if you are a BetAnySports customer, you can get reduced juice before the game, and then real-time wagering with Live Betting Ultra after the first pitch is thrown.

Here is what's amazing - over the last 24 games, the Tribe has not allowed more than four runs even ONCE. And their lead has grown from 5.5 games to 14.5 during that stretch.

The Angels are 76-73, which puts them a game and a half behind the Minnesota Twins for the second American League wild card spot. So they are very much in the running to face (in all likelihood) the New York Yankees in what would be a one-off wild card game at Yankee Stadium.

Taking the mound for the Indians is Mike Clevinger (10-5, 3.21 ERA), who has been coming on pretty strong of late. His opponent for the Angels is Tyler Skaggs (2-5, 4.37 ERA), who is coming off perhaps his best outing of the season.

In the baseball betting odds that have been placed on this game by the folks at BetAnySports, the Angels are the favorites:

Los Angeles Angels (Skaggs) -126
Cleveland Indians (Clevinger) +116

Under 8 Runs -120
Over 8 Runs +100

Clevinger has come on in a big way. In fact, four of his last six starts have produced Game Scores in the 70s, and he has yielded only one earned run in his last 23-2/3 innings. No one has hit a homer off him in these last four starts either.

Of course, there is a flipside. He was roughed up by the Angels on July 25, allowing five runs, including a pair of homers, before he was removed with one out in the fifth inning. But on an overall basis, he looks like the kind of pitcher the Tribe can take into the playoff rotation with them.

Skaggs was brilliant last time out, holding the Houston Astros to just three hits over seven scoreless innings. Prior to that, however, he had three pretty rough outings, including a two-inning stint against Texas in which he gave up five runs.

Part of Cleveland's success, obviously, is that they have been so good on the road, with a 48-27 record. Clevinger, like all pitchers, better look out for Mike Trout, who leads all batters with a .452 on-base percentage and 1.090 OPS, but over the last thirteen games, Trout's batting average has dipped from .333 to .315.

The value here lies in the underdog that has been so hot lately. And considering Skaggs' level of inconsistency, can we count on a big effort from him two turns in a row? Don't think so. Indians.
