The first full week of preseason games does provide some insight into a few of the NFL futures odds and prop bets for the upcoming season.

We have had our first taste of the NFL for 2014 after the first full week of preseason games. While it would be impossible to draw any hard and fast conclusions from the initial results, that small glimpse does help provide some insight into a few of the NFL futures odds and prop bets for the upcoming season posted at Vietbet.

Seattle remains the favorite to win Super Bowl XLIX with betting odds of +575 versus a bet on the rest of the field at -775. I am not sold on the Seahawks repeating simply because of just how hard that task that has proven to be over the years, but I am not ready to bet the field against this team given the risk in those odds.

I am looking further down the list for value in the Super Bowl odds in teams such as Philadelphia at +2800 against a field bet of -4600. The rust was pretty obvious in last Friday's 34-28 loss to Chicago as a 1.5-point road underdog as third-year quarterback Nick Foles threw as many interceptions in limited action as he did all last season (two). None the less, the Eagles team is stacked with talent on the offensive side of the ball and its defensive secondary should be much more effective at stopping the pass after being completely overhauled this past offseason.

VietBet has set the betting odds at +175 that Cincinnati will win the AFC North this season, but I like the slightly better +215 odds on Pittsburgh to climb back on top in this highly competitive division race. The Steelers have posted back-to-back 8-8 seasons the last two years which sets the stage for a 10 or 11 win season this year. Mike Tomlin is a quality head coach who knows how to get his team ready and Ben Roethlisberger is a NFL franchise quarterback with the proven ability to find ways to win games.

One of VietBet's more popular player props to wager on in the NFL are the odds set for total passing, rushing and receiving yards. New Orleans' quarterback Drew Brees has the best odds at +200 to lead the league in passing yards, but it is hard to ignore Peyton Manning's odds to win at +270. He is coming off a year for the ages with 5,477 passing yards as opposed to 5,162 total yards for Brees's and I see Manning airing it out every week again in pursuit of another trip to the Super Bowl.
