Tie doesn't do much for gamblers

Anyone who bet the money line on yesterday's Eagles- Bengals game will receive a full refund. The money line type of bet requires you to pick a team to win or lose rather than betting to cover the spread.

The Eagles were an 81/2-point favorite, fluctuating as high as nine points.

Dan O'Brien, the senior oddsmaker for Las Vegas Sports Consultants explained the process of the money line where the Eagles were prohibitive favorites.

"If you bet the money line for the Eagles to win and put down $400, then you would've won an additional $100 if the Eagles had won," he said.

"But since the game ended in a tie, then you would receive a refund on the $400 that you bet."

Also, in case you were wondering, it is not possible to bet for a tie, as stated by another Las Vegas oddsmaker, Jason Been. He also said that 90 percent of the Eagles game bets were on the spread.

Overall, it was a normal, reasonable day for the Vegas sports books. He said that the Green Bay Packers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers covering was neutral for the books.

He believed that Atlanta was a popular pick over Denver, but that the Falcons lost, which was good for the books.
