Mail Fraud Alert

NJC Incorporated has circulated letters to many US citizens and includes two checks that appears to be legitimate. The letter states that players have won a random drawing from the Charity Gaming Association. The recipients need to contact a number in Canada to 'activate' these winning checks.

At the bottom of the letter, it states that OSGA is an Official Sponsor and has a stolen copy of our logo. We have nothing to do with this scam.

We received wind of this after several people called us to check the validity of these contest winnings. Two callers checked with the credit union that these checks were written on. The checks are bogus.

One 'winner' did fax us the letter she received. You can view it here.

We called the number on the letter to find out what the deal is with this scam. We were hung up on.

We figure that once the checks bounce, the company that issued them would get your bank account number and a bunch of personal information. They would also get the phone number when the 'winner' calls in. Still, this is an odd scam that does not seem to have a huge benefit, especially for the amount of risk the scammers are taking.

Beware of mailers and letters using our logo. Always check with us at osga@osga.com or at (877) 674-2238 when you see our logo - before you get involved with companies displaying our endorsement.
