LONDON - Team Bodog finished in the money again at the
Irish Open with Kai Paulsen from Trondheim, Norway walking away from the tables
with €175,000 after finishing in fifth place, his biggest win yet.
Paulsen was one of
seven qualifiers representing Team Bodog in the Main Event at the City West
Hotel in Dublin. Paulsen started out well on the final day; however, new
champion Neil Channing controlled the table from the start and walked away with
€800,000.
Two further Team
Bodog players also cashed out in the tournament with Timothy Barany from
Indiana, U.S., finishing in 61st place with €5,500 and Magnus Hulden from
Helsinki, Finland cashing out with €4,500.
"Team Bodog had a
great showing at the Irish Open," says Morris Mohawk Gaming Group CEO Alwyn
Morris. "2008 is off to a fantastic start for Team Bodog, and we're expecting
the year to only get better from here on in."
Each of the seven
Team Bodog members earned their entry through the Irish Poker Open online
qualifiers throughout January and February at Bodoglife.com.
The qualifier winners were each rewarded with a $9,000 prize package that
included the tournament buy-in, travel expenses and Team Bodog gear along with
the attention of a personal Team Bodog handler.
